What Angers God?

King Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his chamber that was in Samaria, and lay sick: and he sent messengers, saying, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease (2 Kings 1:2).

The Bible declares in Psalm 103:8-9 that the, “The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.”

And much as this is true, every child of God needs to know what angers Him to be able to walk with Him.

When Ahaziah fell sick, and sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub concerning his health, the Lord got angry. He sent an angel to Elijah to go and say to them, “…[Is it] not because [there is] not a God in Israel, [that] ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?” (2 Kings 1:3).

You see, the King was expected to enquire of God, and no other, and did error not to seek His opinion on the matter.

Because of that error, it was told him by the Prophet that he was to die. And so he died according to the Word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken” (2 Kings 1:17).

Child of God, purpose in your heart to only enquire of the Lord. He chose you and desired that you have complete trust in Him. No matter the situation, don’t be quick to seek the opinions of physicians, business specialists, lawyers and the so learned. We have the best Counselor; the Holy Spirit.

This is the reason we purposely and intentionally priorities prayer, studying and meditating on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Don’t anger God!
