The Power Of Thoughts

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he… (Proverbs 23:7).

Thoughts are pictures of the mind that have constructive or destructive potential. Thoughts also have power and create realities, and the quickest way to affect your thoughts is through mental pictures. You’ve got to see first in your mind the things you desire for your life.

In Genesis 15:1, God told Abraham, “…Fear not…I am your shield, and your exceeding great reward.” But instead of Abraham to be excited at Gods Word, he complained bitterly: “Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since I don’t have a son, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth” (Genesis 15:2-3).

God, however knew what to do to make Abraham believe; He gave him a mental picture. He “…brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if you be able to number them: and He said to him, So shall your seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and He counted it to him for righteousness” (Genesis 15:59-6).

That picture of having offspring as innumerable as the stars in the sky helped Abraham believe Gods Word and think the right thoughts. He went on to receive Gods promise and Isaac was born.

Child of God, make a practice of forming the right images in your mind based on Gods Word. When you do, those thoughts will create realities. Let your mind be flooded with pictures of impossibilities, excellence, greatness, success and victory.

Think the right thoughts, speak the right words and receive the results of the Word in your life.
