Our Daily  Bread

Give us this day our daily bread (Matthew 6:11).

 

Jesus said, “…do not worry about tomorrow…” (Matthew 6:34). If you worry about tomorrow, you’ll be trying to live tomorrow today. But God gives us daily bread, and today’s bread isn’t meant for tomorrow. 

 

This means that God wants you to live today and not worry about tomorrow. God gives sufficient grace for today. When tomorrow comes, the bread will be there. So, do your work, attend to your business but don’t worry about tomorrow. 

 

This is what God demonstrated to the children of Israel in Exodus 16. He supplied them manna everyday. They were to gather for ‘today‘ and not keep for ‘tomorrow‘ demonstrating that God is well able to meet all your needs. 

 

There are folks who have never utilised their daily provision for the last many years, and yet they still have todays provision available! What a life! 

 

As a New Creation, your daily bread isn’t about asking, it’s about receiving; it has already been provided for. It’s now your responsibility to plug into the unending supply.
