Of Love For His Presence Presence
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple (Psalm 27:4).
The experience of dwelling in the presence of God with a clear consciousness of who He is is an unbeatable journey and endeavour! No man or woman can truly taste and experience God and not want more of Him.
Reading through the Scriptures and of the stories of great men and women of old, who were used by God, you’ll realise that no one of them wasn’t a lover of the presence of God!
This is a defining characteristic! You’ve got to cultivate a love and passion for it. No one ought to persuade you or manipulate you to love His presence.
The Bible says that Jesus made a habit of separating Himself to pray (Luke 5:16, Matthew 14:23, Mark 6:46). Moses passionately loved the presence (Exodus 24:18, Exodus 34:28). David loved the presence (Psalms 27:4, Psalms 63:1). Daniel loved the presence (Daniel 6).
So, child of God. How is your prayer schedule like? How often do you study and meditate on the scriptures? Carefully examine yourself! You must be intentional and deliberate in your desire to seek the Lord and to know Him more!
This is when you behold His beauty and embrace His loving kindness. This is it when you receive His counsel over your life and get your life aligned to His plans, purposes and will. Glory to God!
