God’s Presence is Our Sure Shield

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you (Isaiah 43:2).

 

Exodus 13:21 gives an account of how God cared for and protected the children of Israel in the wilderness: “And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them them light; to go by day and by night.” That’s the heritage of the children of God.

 

Interesting how the Lord gave them His own atmosphere, and they couldn’t be affected by the harsh weather condition in the wilderness for a number of years. That was the presence of the Holy Spirit with them. 

 

As a child of God, you can carry your own atmosphere! You may not feel it but if you are Born Again, you carry this glorious presence of the Spirit in and around you (John 14:17). This is the blessing of the New Creation. It doesn’t matter where you find yourself or what happens around you, that divine atmosphere protects you against the negative circumstances of life. 

 

No wonder the Lord Jesus described us as INDESTRUCTIBLE: “…and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). Glory! 

 

You’re divinely protected and shielded from anything that hurts. That infection won’t kill you. You may be travelling, but you just can’t die in an accident. There is something about you, in you and around you that makes you more than a conqueror. 

 

You’re different from the general class! There is something that creates an atmosphere of health and victory around you; it’s the indwelling and abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. 

 

Let this reality soak into your spirit that you’re shielded from destruction, harm and evil. The Bible says, “A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you” (Psalms 91:7). There is a law working in your life, and it has separated you from perishing (John 3:16). Blessed be God!
