Be Full of Joy Always

And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8 NASB).

The Lord Jesus’ desire is for His joy to be in you irrespective of the circumstances you face daily. During His earthly ministry, He was always full of joy in the midst of persecution and He wants you to live the same way.

He’s given you joy that’s independent of the happenings around you—it’s a joy that flows from your spirit—a joy that’s unspeakable and full of glory! He said in John 15:11: “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” He wants you full of joy always!

You must make a personal choice to be full of joy ALWAYS! The Bible says, “…the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). That joy is in your spirit; so, stir it up all the time. Otherwise, the devil would want to knock the joy out of you.

One way to fan aflame the joy in your spirit is to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You’re born into Christ—the environment of the Spirit—where there’s life and joy. Those who function outside this environment are the ones who get easily agitated, bitter and frustrated because nothing seems to work out in their lives. And they often inflict their frustrations, unhappiness, and hurt on others. Don’t be that way.

Refuse to wear a long face as though the weight of the world was on your shoulders. Jesus has brought you into His joy, abundance, and peace. Philippians 4:4 NASB says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!”

This is an instruction from the Lord! Make it a point of duty to always give thanks and be glad in everything and at all times. Blessed be God!
