God Is

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

Our theme scripture reveals to us an order by which we MUST approach God. When we come to God, we must believe that He is. This is the begining point.

However, there are many of God’s children who come to Him firstly as a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. This is unfortunate!

Such folks are always thinking about the business they have to start, the marriage they have to enter into, the job they should receive, the house they should build, and many such things. And as long as such fills their minds in prayer, prayer isn’t understood and practiced as a ministry in their lives.

Child of God, desist from making reward-focused and reward-driven prayers. Purpose to know God and to know Him more. Seek Him for what His heart can reveal and not what His hand can give. That’s maturity!

When a man has this understanding that God is, reward becomes a result and not a pursuit. That’s maturity! Let this be your mentality as you seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
